DNA: What makes me unique?

Our uniqueness is what sets us apart from one another. Some say that my eyes make me special, while others would say that my personality is the defining trait. But I’ve come to realize that what truly makes me unique is how I perceive life and how deeply I feel. Inspirations such as the song "DNA" by BTS mean a lot to me because they remind me that our uniqueness is like a genetic code, a blueprint that makes us who we are. Our differences are not just in our physical traits or appearance, but also in the way we understand the world around us.

I’m a tenth-grader at Ilocos Sur National High School. I'm an enthusiastic and passionate teenager aiming to cope with the challenges of growing up. I’m deeply interested in music and spend my free time reading books and watching movies. Doing household chores is also part of my routine, especially when it comes to cleaning my room, because I believe that the cleanliness of my room reflects my mind. It also helps me clear my thoughts as I organize and clean my bedroom. I also enjoy spending time with my friends, especially when we support and help each other to learn, and allow ourselves to be free while pursuing our dreams together. Having a supportive family is one of my sources of strength to strive better, or even be the best.

As for my future, I’m going to take Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) as my senior high school strand since I’m currently in our school’s junior high school’s special program, SSC/STE. I believe that choosing this strand will be very helpful for pursuing science-related courses, even though I am still undecided about what to take for college. Despite being undecided, I’ll still pursue a college course related to medicine because it is what my heart calls for. I am also considering Radiology Technology as a potential future college course. I am beyond excited about exploring and gaining more knowledge as I grow older. It is also part of my plan to work hard and do the best that I can to secure a prosperous life and for my parents to have a daughter they can be proud of in the future. I would love to take my family on trips and treat them as they deserve, giving back for the sacrifices they made for us. It is also one of my plans to heal my inner child by buying things I’ve always wanted, visiting places I’ve always dreamed of going to, and simply making myself happy by doing the things I didn’t get to do or achieve. I plan to save first before settling down. The goal is to be successful, no matter what it takes or how long the journey is.
